This exercise is in honor of the Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMA . He created a holiday classic with the movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. I love how he put a Halloween spin on the Christmas holiday. I’m sure it is no surprise he was a fan of B horror movies. So following his example I want you to take any holiday song and turn it into a Horrible Horror movie title.
- Use any holiday song
- You can use the lyrics from the title or any part of the song.
- Have fun!
Bonus: Give a brief movie plot.
Silent Night, Horror Night
Jason, Freddy Kruger, the scary kid from “The Ring,” the Alien monster, Esther, Damian, the dude from “The Saw” franchise and all the rest of the scary monsters crew meet for their annual holiday party and try to kill each other off.
The poster reads, “Silent Night, Horror Hight: Killing the Holiday Spirit!!”

Scary Clowns
Scary clowns are terrorizing the world in search of Santa Claus, who they want to eat. (I’ve gone a step further and wrote a little ditty)-to the tune of Jingle Bells
Gnashing their green teeth
Stomping big red feet
Searching all around the world
Causing terror on the street
“Bring us the Red Dude!
And yes you can conclude!
We’ll chop him up in little bits
And then he’ll be our food!”
OH! Scary Clowns, Scary Clowns
Stalking Santa Claus
They can’t wait to get him
In their great big pointy paws.

So to honor me, pa rum pum pum pum,
Won’t you come?

I have no kitty to see, pa rum pum pum pum
I just lured you hear to meet your doom, pa rum pum pum pum,

Shall I put you now, pa rum pum pum pum,

Santa Clause is coming to kill you!
He sees you when you’re sleeping.
He knows when your awake.
He knows if you’ve been bad or good.
But you’re gonna die so who cares!

We’re way too good at this!
I’m dreaming of a bloody Christmas!
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the headless bodies glisten,
and children listen
To hear chainsaws buzzing in the snow
I’m dreaming of a bloody Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be scary with fright
And may all your Christmases be bloody!

O’, Cannibals (sung to O’ Christmas Tree)
O’ cannibals. O’ cannibals
How tasty are those entrails?
Do you prefer a leg or thigh?
Don’t body parts just make you sigh?
O’ cannibals. O’ cannibals
How tasty are those entrails?

Then he’ll go cry to his mama,
fa la la la la, la la, la la
Then go deck his damned attorneys,
fa la la, la la la, la la la
They can chat on matching gurneys
FA-LA-LA-LA-LA LA-LA LA-LA……….

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like A Charnel House
(C’mon everyone…..you know the tune…….!)
I’m hungry and I want to eat brains.
Ohhh, they’re so darn sweet!
Rip ’em out of a bloody head.
Don’t care if the body’s dead.
They’re a great gushy, mushy treat!
I’m hungry and I want to eat brains.
Ohhh, they’re everywhere galore!
Oh, yes, the prettiest sight to see,
(And It stays between you and me),
Is that sticky, icky mess on the floor!
A big pair of sweetbreads, torn straight from their heads
That is my wish again and again.
Just tear them right out as blood spews in a gout.
Please just tell me where and when!
Ohhhh, for bloody brains I sure have a yen!
(everybody…..!)
I’m hungry and I want to eat brains
Ohhh, they’re so darn sweet!
Rip ’em out of a bloody head,
Don’t care if the body’s dead,
They’re a great gushy, mushy treat!
