My five year old daughter is my inspiration for this weeks exercise. Here is a picture of her.

She is pretending to be a Adventuring Jedi Hair Stylist . She has her lightsaber, backpack and beauty supplies.
She is saving the galaxy one bad hair day at a time. I was thinking if there were three professions you could be or do at the same time, what would they be?
- Combine three jobs into one super profession.
- Give the job title.
- Of course Mother and Father count.
- Fictional jobs and abilities count.
- Give a list of at least three things you would need.
- Have fun!
Bonus: Draw or photograph yourself as this character.

I’ve learned a few things about living in a house with both my mother-in-law who is a baker, and has a commercial bakery in her house:
- one is I should never bring home, store bought cookies
- the house always smells awesome when you wake up (baking starts at 4:00 am)
- most importantly you learn to love mistakes.
See the small flaw in this cupcake?
There is a little extra cake hanging over the edge. This is a cupcake disaster even though it still tasted delicious (that’s chocolate with a peanut butter creme filling and yes I ate it) but it would not have made it to Ooma‘s display case at the bakery anyway. It did inspire a creative challenge though.
Now this is not a major flaw for a cup cake (I did say it was delicious) but I can’t eat them all and it can happen frequently. Here is the assignment:
- Come up with a marketing or advertising gimmick that will help sell these lopsided cupcakes.
- Give them a special name
- Change the flavor if you think it helps
- Have fun!
Bonus: There is a reason this happens to cupcakes while baking, come up with you best guess as to why. Most original idea wins an official Mojogoing.com Empty envelope.

So your self-promotion has worked and you have that all important new client. The project itself has scope for you to add some personal style or artistic flair to it as well. After the initial brainstorming, research and sketches you are nowhere – with nothing visual to guide yourself. Creative block!

I’m not famous yet but I can imagine that when I am I will have a line of products that I’ll slap my name on. I was surprised to see that someone has helped me start my merchandising efforts. At least I have a cologne named after me.
I found and purchased some from a vendor at the Hartford Irish Music Festival. It’s not bad but I really liked the branding. Now all I need is the fame.
So here is the challenge. What would be your signature product?
- It can be anything you want. (one item or a line of items)
- What would make it yours besides the name, (if it’s a perfume what does it smell like etc.) what makes it different?
- Come up with a tag line.
- Have Fun!
Bonus: Go crazy and design some packaging

When I used to commute home from work , Shrewsbury to Palmer, every day I would pass this sign on the Mass Pike.

When I first started driving, I would see this sign and I would be excited because it meant I was almost home. As time went on the sign started to have a different effect. The anticipation for getting to it or the hope that I already had passed it would make me cringe when I would finally see it approaching.I still had 8 more miles. I hated this sign.
Right now I am commuting in the other direction and I pass the same sign on my way to work, it is at the beginning of my trip and it has no effect on me now. It is just doing it’s job. It’s purpose is to be helpful.
I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience or can think or something as harmless as that street sign that could create a reaction (good or bad) even when it’s intention is to be helpful.
Give me a list of anything that you can think of that:
- The Item’s true intention must be to help or inform you (no slogans or bumper stickers)
- you have a strong reaction to it (Bad or Good)
- you can explain the reason why
Have Fun!
Bonus: Do both Bad and Good
