My two dogs escaped from my back yard this morning and I had just gotten dressed in the clothes I intended to work in. I feared chasing after them in the mud and rain through the neighborhood. My only hope was using the one true magic word I know that might effect them. I called out “Cookies!” and sure enough they both came running back.
It gave me an idea for this weeks post. What would your magic word be. What one word would turn you around and make you head back home, drop what ever you were doing or make you daydream a little.
Please post your response.
Bonus: What word works on other people you know? (Keep it clean)

I remember those old Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials where by some strange accident a great new candy treat was discovered combining Chocolate and Peanut butter.
This time not by accident but on purpose I want us to come up with a new combined fast food snack.
- Take two of your favorite fast food items
- Combine them into what you believe will be a super tasty food item.
- Give it a name and a price
Bonus: Come up with the name of the restaurant that will sell it for you.

… in copier paper replacing.
Here is your chance to claim victory. We are all great at something so let’s find out what that is. Pick five everyday activities that you would like to compete in if they had a live televised competition.
- Arrange your events from strongest to weakest.
- They can be something from home or work.
- Have fun.
Bonus: Give the overall competition a sport television style name.

… until now!
There are four common words in the English language that are nearly impossible to rhyme.
- Month
- Silver
- Orange
- Purple
This week’s creative exercise is to pick any one of the words above and create a brand new word that rhymes with it. Then you must also give us the definition of your new word.
Bonus: Try it with all the words.

Next time on a trip save a little room on your camera for a little series photography.
When my wife and I were in Ireland we made a few collections of photographs all centered on a common subject. I did street lettering, she did gates.
Street lettering: see here
Exercise #2: Grab your camera. Over the next week or so, focus on one idea – leaves, grass, twigs, soda cans, poo – whatever you like. Take pictures from different angles and in different light – see what series you can come up with.
Bonus: Combine them into one image or have them framed together.

When I was little I used to stare at the ceiling in my room when I couldn’t sleep. When looking at it I would try to make out different shapes or faces in the shadows and texture or ceiling. To this day I still do that when I find the time to sit and look closely at the textures around me.
Here are few samples of images I have pulled out of the wood floor at my son’s Kung Fu school. Click on the images to see what I saw.

Exercise # 1:
- Take a digital photo of some random texture or pattern.
- Print it out in color or black and white.
- Look at it from all angles until you start to make out an image.
- Use a marker, pencil or pen to fill in the areas that are missing.
Bonus: Do the exercise again but use a picture of the ceiling above your bed.
